Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (commonly shortened to Alice in Wonderland) is an 1865 proto-Discordian novel written by English Saint Lewis Carroll. It tells of a young girl named Saint Alice falling through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar, anthropomorphic Discordians. The tale plays with Greyfacean logic, giving the story lasting popularity with Discordians as well as Normals who have no idea what it's actually talking about. Like The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Peter Pan and Wendy, it promoted the concept of "if you don't get caught, it's not illegal."
